SkySearch: Find the Best Flight for Your Trip, Not Just the Cheapest

How Long Does It Take You to Find the Right Flight?

You want to fly from Riga to Barcelona sometime in May. You want to leave in the morning, come back in the evening, stay at least five nights, and change planes no more than once.

Most flight search sites ask for exact dates. So you try the 3rd to the 10th. Then the 4th to the 11th. Then the 10th to the 17th. You open ten tabs, compare times, and still are not sure you found the best option.

This takes an hour, sometimes more. For a business trip, that is an hour not spent on work. For a holiday, it is the least fun part of the planning.

Meet SkySearch

SkySearch is a free tool we built to do that search for you. You describe the trip once. It checks every possible combination of dates in your range and shows you the best one.

You enter where you fly from and to, and the range of dates you can travel. Then you set what matters to you: the departure time you like on the way out, the time you like for the way back, the minimum number of nights, the maximum number of stops, passengers and cabin class. It works for round trips and one-way flights.

SkySearch skips date combinations that cannot work, for example a return before your minimum stay. It searches the rest and removes every flight that breaks your rules.

Best Is Not the Same as Cheapest

The cheapest ticket is often a 6 a.m. departure with a long overnight connection. That is rarely the trip you want.

SkySearch scores every valid trip from 0 to 100. Price counts for 40%. Your preferred departure times count for 40%, split between the way out and the way back. The total travel time and the number of stops make up the rest. A slightly more expensive direct flight at a good time can beat a cheaper one with a night in an airport.

You see the results in three lists: Best overall, Cheapest, and Most convenient. You choose what matters most to you.

It Tells You Why

For the top result, SkySearch explains its choice in plain words. For example: direct flights both ways, a morning departure, an evening return, a ten-night stay, and the lowest price among similarly convenient options.

The explanation comes from the flight data itself, so it is always accurate. No guessing.

Each result also shows who flies the plane and who sells the ticket. These are not always the same airline, and it matters when you book or need to change your trip.

The Details That Make the Answer Correct

Riga and Barcelona are in different time zones. SkySearch reads every departure in the local time of its airport, so a 16:20 departure from Barcelona is checked as 16:20 in Barcelona. Flight durations are calculated from real timestamps, including changes to summer time.

Stops are counted from the actual flight segments, not from a label. Flight data comes from a professional airline data provider, not from scraping websites.

How We Built It

We built SkySearch with the same AI-driven development process we use for client projects. AI engineers did much of the coding, and our team set the rules, checked the results, and tested the details that matter, like time zones and stop counts.

The first working version took days, not months. That is what AI-driven development can do when experienced engineers guide it. If you have a process that eats hours of your team's time, like comparing options or checking data by hand, we can build a tool like this for your business too.
